We recommend offshore brokerage accounts at various banks to maximize the benefits that are obtained from going offshore and maintaining an offshore account. Offshore brokerage accounts can be very useful in any asset protection plan by helping your company to generate returns on assets by investing in different market securities, while saving on taxes.

Brokerage Accounts in Panama (Central America)

We are affiliated with a major brokerage/investment firm in Panama to which we introduce clients that are interested in trading securities and engaging in different types of investment activities. Brokerage accounts can be opened for offshore companies, foundations and trust, and can be set up with distinct subaccounts for various objectives. Options on futures, stocks, forex, Exchange Traded Funds (ETF’s) and Contracts for Difference (CFD’s) can be traded. Trading with this offshore brokerage account can be performed in markets in Asia, Europe, Canada and the United States.

Documents to be submitted for an offshore brokerage account in Panama include the following:

  1. Full set of corporate documents; all of which must be certified (we prepare this)
  2. Offshore brokerage account application forms, completed and signed
  3. Certified (notarized) passport copy of every designated signatory of the brokerage account
  4. Certified (notarized) copy of second ID (such as driver’s license, national ID card)
  5. Proof of residential address, in the form of an original utility bill (electricity bill, or even credit/bank statement), issued no later than 3 months prior to submitting account application
  6. Bank reference (a letter issued by a bank at which you hold an account)
  7. Professional reference (from attorney-in-fact, lawyer, accountant, partner, client, etc.)
  8. Brief Curriculum Vitae (CV)

Other requirements for the  brokerage account:

  • A first deposit must be at least USD 10,000 or equivalent in Euro. No minimum balance is required to be maintained following the first deposit of funds into brokerage account;
  • All funds deposited as initial deposit, incoming or outgoing transfers are required to be in USD or Euro and must be deposited or withdrawn on company’s bank account name;
  • An offshore company bank account must be opened prior to brokerage account so that transfers can be made in the name of the company’s bank account (as mentioned above). Wires into the brokerage account are not acceptable from third parties;
  • Trading can be done in any foreign currency even though only wires in Euro and USD can be made into Panama trading account;

Procedure for Panama brokerage account opening:

  1. Offshore trading accounts are activated within 3 to 5 days following the receipt of all required application documents.
  2. To expedite the account opening process, scanned copies of these documents can be sent by email prior to receipt of documents by post for account preapproval. All original documents must be received in no more than 2 weeks following preapproval of brokerage account in Panama.
